Juanita Jackson Grice

DILLON – On December 5, 2020, God called his angel, Juanita Grice from her earthly home.  Juanita was the child of the late Isaac and Augusta Jackson. 

Juanita was a mother or grandmother to everyone she met.  She was always willing to help others and never met a stranger.  Juanita always had a smile and was willing to carry on a conversation.  She loved everyone, especially her family.  Juanita was strong and independent woman who was always willing to help others but would rarely ask for help.

She attended Deliverance Church for All People in Marion, SC.  She faithfully went to church until her health would no longer allow. 

In 1925, Juanita married John C. Grice who preceded her in death.  In this union was born eleven children.  Four children preceded them in death, Clerance (Hattie) Grice, Sammy (Lorraine) Grice, Levern Grice, and Leon Grice.

Juanita leaves to cherish fond memories: Mary (Leroy) Brown of Dillon, John C. Grice, Jr. of Dillon , Charles (Loretta) Grice of Marion, Johnnie Mae (Eddie) McEachern of Marion, Ellis Grice of Dillon, Joyce (John) Hines of Dillon, Daisy Bethea of Dillon, and Bary Jackson of Dillon.  She was the grandmother of four generations that included a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren.  She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her son-in-law, John Hines.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at Leitner Funeral Home in Latta.  A private burial will be held later at Hamilton Cemetery in Dillon.  A public viewing will be held from 1:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Leitner Funeral Home in Latta.  The care of Mrs. Grice and her family has been entrusted to the family of professionals at Leitner Funeral Home.
